OGC Nice lead the race for Alexis Claude-Maurice

Our colleagues at Goal France understand that Ligue 1 side OGC Nice have moved into pole position to land FC Lorient attacker Alexis Claude-Maurice.

Despite a number of offers emanating from England worth at their highest close to €18m, the player has refused to move to teams where he is not guaranteed playing time.

As a result, Ligue 1 clubs have jumped in the race in recent weeks, offering considerably less than their English counterparts.

Talks are said to be very advanced over a 4-year contract in a deal that could be worth €7m plus bonuses.
