David Guion to take charge of Bordeaux from tomorrow

L’Équipe report that former Reims manager David Guion will take his first training session with Bordeaux tomorrow, as the club finalise arrangements for the suspended Vladimir Petković to leave the club.

Although Guion’s arrival has not been made official, he has already spoken to several players, with midfielder Josuha Guilavogui commenting on the defensive improvements he will bring to Ligue 1’s worst defence.

Guion has agreed to a one and a half year contract with Les Girondins, meanwhile negotiations continue for the former Swiss national team manager’s contract to end. Petković’s deal was due to run until 2024, and a sacking for serious misconduct is not out of the question as a solution.
