FRIDAY NEWS UPDATE
For the first time maybe ever, Garrett Gonzalez and I will be doing two shows over the next two days, with a Friday night show as well as a late Saturday night show. Bryan and I will be back Sunday covering WWE Elimination Chamber.
A few added notes on Wednesday ratings. AEW was No. 4 for the night where almost everything was down from usual levels due to the blackout in Texas. The late-night NBA game was No. 2, but AEW head-to-head beat the NBA game on ESPN by 0.31 to 0.25 in 18-49 while viewers were almost identical at 747,000 for AEW and 749,000 for the NBA game. NXT finished No. 39 which is a lot better than the show has been doing. All the breakdowns are in the current issue and there will be more breakdowns in next week’s issue. Both shows beat the NHL game on NBC Sports Network.
Smackdown tonight has Kevin Owens & Daniel Bryan & Cesaro vs. King Corbin & Sami Zayn & Jey Uso. 205 Live has August Grey vs. Ariya Daivari.
The 2020 Awards issue will be out in one week.
UFC weigh-ins for tomorrow’s show on ESPN+ starting at 5 p.m. Eastern. Four fighters missed weight, including one all-time record miss as Rafael Alves weighed 157.5 pounds for a fight contracted at 145 against Patrick Sabatini. That fight has been canceled.

TikTok has struck a multi-year deal with UFC to host exclusive livestreamed content and behind-the-scenes content.
