Former Miss Kentucky Charged With Sending Nude Photos to Boy, 15


CHARLESTON, WV — A former Miss Kentucky turned middle school teacher in West Virginia was arrested Friday for allegedly sending nude photos to a 15-year-old boy, who was once her student.

Twenty-eight-year-old Ramsey Bearse is charged with four felony counts of distributing or displaying obscene matter to a minor. Investigators allege Bearse, a science teacher at Andrew Jackson Middle School in Cross Lanes outside Charleston, sent obscene images to the child via Snapchat between August and October, WTAP reported.

The boy’s parents discovered the images on his phone, and that’s when the former Miss America contestant admitted to sending the pictures, FOX News reported.

Competing under her maiden name Ramsey Carpenter, she was crowned Miss Kentucky in 2014. The following year she competed in the Miss America Pageant.

The school district declined to comment on the specifics of the case. In a statement issued Friday, Kanawha County Schools Communications Director Briana Warner said, “We cannot comment on personnel matters, but we will follow all applicable policies and procedures. The safety and security of our students is our top priority.”
