Fekir agent calls for Liverpool to agree fee with Lyon as he confirms Reds interest

The Reds are interested in the France international but a deal has not yet been agreed with his current club, according to his representative

Nabil Fekir’s agent has confirmed Liverpool’s interest in the Lyon captain but says a deal is yet to be struck for the France international.

Fekir scored 18 league goals last season as Lyon finished third in Ligue 1 behind Monaco and runaway champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Goal reported last week that Liverpool were ready to step up their pursuit of Fekir  in a deal that could be worth £60 million (€69m/$80m).

The 24-year-old’s impressive form has been noticed by a number of clubs, including the Reds, but discussions between club and player are yet to take place, according to Fekir’s agent Jean-Pierre Bernes.

“Talks with Liverpool will only happen when there is an agreement with Lyon and Jean-Michel Aulas gives the green light,” he told French outlet Le Progres .

“Liverpool’s interest exists but for now nothing is done. The transfer window is long and other clubs could show interest.”

Fekir has also been linked with a move to Chelsea, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich among other clubs.

Liverpool recently completed the signing of Fabinho from Monaco and will also have Naby Keita join them this summer from RB Leipzig.

The Reds are likely to add to their squad before the end of the summer , with offensive targets particularly sought after to add depth to the squad.
