President Obama has quite the Twitter following, 11 million to be exact. That puts him in good company with some of the planet’s biggest celebrities and public figures. But with that kind of audience, there’s no way to avoid a few trolls slipping through the cracks.
Now, we all react to mean people online differently. Some of choose to simply ignore them, while others fight fire with fire. But when you’re the president, there’s something surreal about simply reading those tweets on-air before millions of viewers. So, that’s what Jimmy Kimmel asked Obama to do on his show Monday night:
And the results were hilarious. Perhaps no more so than when Obama read a tweet from the Donald himself, “President Obama will go down as perhaps the worst president in the history of the United States!”
To which our ever calm, cool and collected commander-in-chief replied, “Well, @realDonaldTrump, at least I will go down as a president.”
