Official | Jemerson joins Monaco

Monaco have confirmed the signing of Brazilian central defender Jemerson from Brazilian outfit Atletico Mineiro for an undisclosed fee believed to be worth €11m.

The 23 year old had previously been the subject of multiple European outfits including AC Milan and Chelsea, but he joins Ligue 1 side Monaco on a 4.5 year contract.

AS Monaco Vice President Vadim Vasilyev had the following to say on the deal:

“We are very proud to welcome Jemerson, a young Brazilian defender who we have watched regularly. We very much believe in him. He will have the chance to progress at AS Monaco and we are certain that he will soon show all his qualities.”
