Lille without Burak Yilmaz for PSG clash

L’Équipe report that Ligue 1 champions Lille will host current table-toppers Paris Saint-Germain this evening without Burak Yilmaz (36) in the squad.

The Turkish striker, who was reluctantly substituted for winter recruit Hatem Ben Arfa in the 76th minute of Lille’s 2-0 defeat to Brest last weekend, will miss the fixture with a pubis injury. His absence could offer Ben Arfa an opportunity to get his first start with Les Dogues.

Having played an important role in Lille’s title-winning season in 2020/21, Yilmaz earned 14th position in the GFFN Top 100 of 2021. This season has been quieter for the Turk, with just four goals in twenty league appearances.

Jonathan David and Timothy Weah are also in the squad, having returned from their Canadian and American World Cup qualifying campaigns respectively.
