Christophe Galtier’s PSG contract now ratified by the FFF

Following L’Équipe’s report from last night that Christophe Galtier’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain had not been ratified by the FFF, RMC Sport indicate this afternoon that the French football authorities have now reversed the decision and approved it.

The Frenchman had originally seen the federation’s commission of educators and coaches turn down his contract as he had not updated his coaching diploma with a test he is meant to take every three years. Following the meeting, which took place on July 28, he was asked to reach out to the national technical director – former Lyon coach Hubert Fournier – so as to bring his management qualifications up to date.

Galtier has now sent an e-mail to the FFF by which he has committed to take the test over the course of the coming season for his UEFA Pro Licence to be “recycled” in the eyes of the authorities, and for his two-year deal with the Ligue 1 champions.

As a result, the administrative issue has not jeopardised his place on the PSG bench, and the former Lille and Nice coach will be allowed to continue his management duties with the club he joined this summer, starting with the opener against Clermont tonight.
