As noted, Emma was one of three WWE stars released this week, as the company also parted ways with Darren Young and Summer Rae.

According to a new report by Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, WWE ultimately made the decision to release the former NXT standout due to “considerable” backstage heat she had in the company.

The report furthers Emma had made enemies out of some members of the WWE creative team, and they were none too pleased with her being so vocal on social media about her position in the company. An example would be when she was Tweeting using the #GiveEmmaAChance. At one point on WWE TV, Kurt Angle addressed the behavior and said Tweeting about it was not the way to help her situation on Raw.

The SI report also said Emma’s release was done as somewhat of a warning to other talents in WWE, considering names like Neville, Nia Jax and Jimmy Jacobs have had issues in recent weeks, with Jacobs being released, and Neville likely on his way out of WWE. Barrasso pointed out that Nia Jax “used her leverage to take a brief hiatus and return to Raw this past Monday with a renewed, strengthened storyline from the creative team.”

Emma, along with Summer Rae and Darren Young, were informed of their WWE releases this past Sunday.
