Liverpool, Chelsea eye cut-price deal for Thuram’s son

Premier League sides Liverpool and Chelsea are in a race to sign Lilian Thuram‘s son, according to reports.

Khephren Thuram is part of Ligue One side Monaco’s academy but has yet to sign professional terms despite being one of club’s brightest prospects.

And the Daily Mail claims that their failure to offer him terms ‘could open the door for a move to the Premier League’ with Liverpool and Chelsea interested.

Juventus are also understood to be keeping an eye on the 17-year-old, whose father played for the likes of the Old Lady and Barcelona in his playing days.

Thuram Jnr has already made his debut for the senior side in November as they lost to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

His dad, meanwhile, wants to ‘choose the right direction for him’ after ‘resisting’ any offers from Monaco for his son.

A number of high-profile names including Thierry Henry, Michael Emenalo and vice-president Vadim Vasilyev all paid the price for Monaco’s terrible season with their jobs.

And Premier League sides could take advantage of uncertainty surrounding the clubs future by testing the waters with a cut-price deal for Thuram.
