Sporting make offer for Islam Slimani (Lyon)

As reported in the Portuguese media, Sporting Portugal today made a loan offer for Algerian international striker Islam Slimani to Lyon, in a bid to see the 33-year-old forward make an emotional return to a club where he enjoyed great success earlier on in his career.

The offer is a loan until the end of the season, with Ligue 1 club Lyon willing to consider the offer, but Slimani at the moment is not keen – he feels good at OL and, barring a u-turn, intends to remain at least until the end of the season, when his current deal expires.
