Yesterday WWE made the decision to change Mustafa Ali’s name, with the SmackDown Live star becoming the latest victim of WWE’s strange changes.

Like many other wrestlers such as Andrade, Apollo Crews (although he got his name back), and Rowan the former WWE 205 Live star has had his first name removed, and will now be known as “Ali,” moving forward.

Ali has commented on the fact his name has been altered, stating that Mustafa means, “The Chosen One,” with the emphasis on being chosen amongst the people.

Despite the fact that it has been taken away from him, Ali stated that he will continue to fight for the people as he is one of them.

Mustafa means the "chosen one" with an emphasis on being chosen from amongst the people.

Name or not, nothing has changed. I fight for the people. I am one of them.
